Having spent the last 15 years involved in the activity, both as an instructor and a performer. He has performed with such distinguished performance organizations as the Santa Clara Vanguard and Diamante Independent World. He has taught many programs across Southern California. Ms. Cheyne received her early dance training at Debbie Reynolds Studio under the direction of Patsy and Rowdy Metzger. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Cheyne has worked with dance choreographers from the Diavolo Dance Theater, Los Angeles Ballet, and LA Contemporary Dance Company. She started dancing at three in College Station, Texas, mastering commercial styles, classical ballet, & contemporary dance. Megan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. At NYU, she showcased pieces by choreographers like Sean Curran, MADBOOTS DANCE, & Ronald K. She later continued her training in ballet and modern dance at The Colburn School’s Professional Training Program, under the direction of Leslie Carothers and Glen Eddy. Julianna was accepted into The Ailey School/Fordham University’s BFA Program in New York and in 2015, graduated magna-cum laude with Honors in Spanish Studies. While at The Ailey School, she was fortunate enough to perform works by Nicholas Villaneuve, Germaul Barnes, Matthew Rushing and Alenka Cizmesija. She also became a member of JUNTOS Collective, a non-profit that uses dance to develop leadership in underserved communities. With JUNTOS, she performed and taught dance workshops in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and New York City. Currently, Julianna is on faculty at The Colburn School’s Trudl Zipper Dance Institute and Hope Street Family Center, where she teaches ballet, modern and jazz to young dancers. As well as teaching youth, she also teaches open adult dance and movement-wellness classes at Pilates & Arts in Echo Park. As a choreographer, Julianna has performed and presented her own work as part of Dance Recourse Center’s Terra Nova Residency program, has traveled to New Mexico as part of The 2018 Keshet Makers Space Experience and has been a guest teacher at Academia Sabik in Cartago, Costa Rica. In 2019, she became an apprentice with JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble, under the direction of Pat Taylor. She made her performance debut with the company at the 2019 Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival in October. Julianna is also very passionate about music and the global impact that the arts can have, especially on today’s youth.
