Courtney Cheyne

Director

Courtney Cheyne graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor in Theatre Arts and Dance. Ms. Cheyne received her early dance training at Debbie Reynolds Studio under the direction of Patsy and Rowdy Metzger. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Cheyne has worked with dance choreographers from the Diavolo Dance Theater, Los Angeles Ballet, and LA Contemporary Dance Company.

Marc Miranda

Hip Hop Instructor

Marc Miranda has been teaching our Monday after-school hip-hop class. This class is open for any SPHS Dance Program member to take. Marc Miranda is a choreographer and hip-hop instructor and the proud founder of groups including Family Bizness and Hit-List, as well as leading dance teams like Marc Miranda Project, Mischief Makers, Mavyn Entertainment, Academy of Swag, The Mob and Goon Squad.

Claire Kucera

Ballet Instructor

Claire Kucera graduated from South Pasadena High School in 2018. She was a part of the SPHS Dance program for 3 years and had a leading role in several of the programs shows such as Alice in Wonderland. In addition to the SPHS dance training, she trained at the Dance Conservatory of Pasadena. She is currently attending the University of California, Irvine and is in their Claire Trevor School of the Arts dance department, in which she is pursuing her BFA in choreography.

Megan Paradowski

Contemporary Instructor

Megan Paradowski teaches our Inter/Adv after-school contemporary class. Megan began training at age three in the small town of College Station, Texas, where she learned commercial styles as well as classical ballet and contemporary. She went on to receive her BFA in Dance at Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, where she had the pleasure of performing works by Sean Curran, MADBOOTS DANCE, and Ronald K. Brown, amongst others. She continued her training in Berlin with Judith Sánchez Ruı́z, Dominique Duszynski, Meg Stuart, Ayman Harper, Eleanor Bauer, Johannes Wieland, and Helder Seabra. She has since performed her own work as well as the works of other contemporary choreographers in venues and festivals across New York City and Philadelphia. Megan has choreographed for and performed in three music videos by New York musical artists.
